waterkeeper alliance

Here at SweetWater, water is pretty damn important to us all. Water is in our name and in our DNA, and our brewers know that quality upstream water makes quality downstream beer. Help support our cause and buy your tickets today – each ticket donates $1 to WaterKeeper Alliance.

recycling program

Throughout the years 100,000 lbs. of landfill waste was diverted through the eco-friendly practices implemented on site including the requirement of all vendors’ utilization of solely compostable and/or recyclable materials. 55,600 lbs. of compost was created from the most recent 420 Fest.

Coca-Cola offered steel refillable mugs and the festival uses recyclable cups and biodegradable serveware made from corn. We will divert even more waste as we continue to grow over the years!

BE GREEN + RIDE IN STYLE

SweetWater 420 Fest offers a heap of transportation options that allow you to make eco-friendly choices and to avoid the hassle of searching for parking Downtown during a weekend jam-packed with events. Here are a few of our suggested modes of transpo:

BIG BELLY SOLAR TRASH COMPACTOR

420 Fest reduces waste by donating a solar powered trash compactor. The compactor improves service and collection efficiency on Atlanta’s Broad Street, one of Downtown’s most popular dining destinations, and within close proximity to Centennial Olympic Park. We decked this puppy out 420-style. Check it out when you’re in the area!

DOWNTOWN ‘EARTH DAY WORK DAY’

In the past, SweetWater 420 Fest and our stellar volunteers have moved mountains (Well, mountains of mulch at least!). From park improvement initiatives at our former home, Candler Park, including nature path formation, pavilion restoration and more, we aim to leave this planet and our venues in a better state. To date, the Fest has donated more than $120,000 to various neighborhood organizations including CPNO, Park Pride and Friends of Candler Park.

SweetWater Brewing Co., Happy Ending Productions, SunTrust Bank, Central Atlanta Progress (CAP), Centennial Olympic Park and Park Pride worked to beautify downtown Atlanta parks and green spaces via Atlanta’s new Streetcar. Volunteers removed trash, landscaped, planted, weeded and painted. Hardworking staff from SweetWater Brewery and Happy Ending Productions also cleaned the park, picking up trash, mulching and gardening throughout Centennial Olympic Park weeks and months after 420 Fest to restore the park.
